There are thousands of identified caves across the Philippines, 1,756 to be exact as per DENR. One of the visited caves in the northern part of the Philippines is the Callao Cave in the municipality of PeƱablanca, Cagayan Province.
The cave is known for tourist who visit Tuguegarao City because this is your jump-off point to Callao Cave.

Entrance Fee is 20 Pesos only, guide is already included. For our safety, our group had a short briefing with our guide Harlem before we get to the cave.

Getting into the cave is quite a challenge as we need to take 184 steps going up. Bring a bottle of water because of the heat ouside and it is going to be a sweaty climb. Take a rest once you get half of the trail for this beautiful view of Pinacanauan River.

Inside the Cave
The Chapel was made by the local people.  The limestone formation serves as the altar and the hole above give out light to the chapel.

The cave is naturally made up of seven chambers, each chambers has a natural light coming from the crevices above.
